Family Law Attorney – Harris County Docket
Location: Harris County, Texas
Position Type: Full-Time
Practice Area: Family Law (Harris County Courts)
We are a fast-paced, client-focused family law firm seeking an energetic, experienced Family Law Attorney to manage and grow a Harris County family law docket. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who thrives in a small office environment, values teamwork, and loves being in the courtroom.
Our firm handles a wide range of family law matters in Harris County courts, including divorce, child custody (SAPCR), child support, enforcement actions, modifications and protective orders.
Ideal candidate
- Has 3+ years of family law litigation experience (Harris County experience strongly preferred)
- Is confident handling hearings, mediations, and trials independently
- Is energetic, proactive, and solutions-oriented
- Thrives in a small, collaborative office environment
- Communicates clearly and compassionately with clients
- Is organized and able to manage an active docket
- Is comfortable negotiating agreements and advocating in court
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a Harris County family law caseload from intake through final disposition
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
- Conduct hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
- Provide strategic legal advice tailored to each client’s goals
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status
- Work closely with support staff to ensure efficient case progression
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Minimum 3 years of family law experience
- Strong knowledge of the Texas Family Code
- Trial experience preferred
- Experience in Harris County family courts preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
