Take on complex family law matters at our Richland office, with your own legal assistant, intake and marketing handled for you, and colleagues who work as a team.
You have spent seven or more years in family law and handle contested matters without constant supervision. We want an attorney who can start taking over matters in the Tri-Cities right away and plug into how the firm practices.
Our marketing team attracts prospective clients, and our intake team conducts new client interviews and helps clients retain the firm. We do not expect you to bring clients to the firm. Our system collects fees before work begins.
The role
- This is an in-office position at our Richland office, serving the Tri-Cities and surrounding counties.
- Evaluate new matters, set strategy, and communicate it to clients and the case team. Write and advocate in court.
- You get your own legal assistant.
- This is not a solo practice inside a firm. We expect you to participate in the firm’s culture: work alongside colleagues on similar cases, take part in our weekly attorney mastermind, and use shared systems and standards.
- Weekly workload surveys so cases are assigned to match your capacity.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary of $155,000 to $230,000, depending on experience
- Annual expectation of 1,500 hours billed and collected (up to 100 hours of qualified pro bono can count)
- Bonus compensation for collected revenue above the annual expectation, measured by calendar year
- Additional compensation if you choose to bring clients to the firm through your own network
- Retention bonus of $5,000 after six months, and relocation assistance of up to $5,000 (taxable)
- Time off is not limited or tracked. You control your schedule as long as you meet your annual billing and collection expectation.
- Paid holidays on the days the courts close, under Washington and federal law, and paid sick leave as Washington law requires
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings account, and 401(k) with employer match
- WSBA and Family Law Section dues, and unlimited NBI continuing legal education
- Partnership is available after one year with the firm, by partner vote, for attorneys with five or more years of practice.
Who we are looking for
Seven or more years of family law experience. Active WSBA membership in good standing, or active pursuit of Washington admission. Spanish language ability is preferred.
Fit
You will like this if you want clear expectations, professional freedom, and capable colleagues. It will not fit if you dislike production expectations, established procedures, or teamwork, or if you want to practice on your own inside the firm.
